Flights to Bermuda
Starting off with the practicalities, Bermuda is some 650 miles east of North Carolina. You can fly direct from London, other UK airports, big cities in Europe and the United States – British Airways is the biggest carrier from the UK with plenty of non-stop flights that take around eight hours. There are also a lot of decent charters. Bermuda is a popular stop on the cruise ship route so a lot of people arrive that way as well.
As a British overseas territory the Queen is head of state (there are festivals and parades on her official birthday every June) while Bermuda Day on May 24 is just as much fun. The official currency is the Bermuda dollar which is pegged to the US dollar and both currencies are pretty much used interchangeably. It’s a relatively safe place but like everywhere else you should watch your valuables in crowds. The Gulf Stream warms the islands, which can be humid in the summer and stormy and wet in the winter.
